Pass out a puzzle as your guests arive. They will have something to do to introduce them to each other and get them into the mood of the party while everyone is ariving. (Plus it gives you those few extra minutes necessary to finish the preparations!)

Make your puzzle, and then print it on pretty paper. You can even find some nice scrapbook papers in the stores. We've included a few ideas here, but go wild and make something that will fit with your shower!

Be sure to make a pretty copy (you can even frame it) for the mom.

Later after the guests have all arived, you can pass out the solution or just call out the answers. Whoever gets the most right wins!

Ideas for how to use your puzzles:
We made these puzzles using Crossword Weaver (click here to get a free demo). We copied the puzzle into Microsoft Word, added a border in some cases, and printed the puzzle out on pretty paper. Some ideas for words to include in your puzzle:

Mom's name, baby name, Dad's name, siblings, guest names, words that reflect your party theme, mom's favorites (food, drinks, color, movies, songs, artists, actor/actress, and so on).

Fun tip: Use a guest's name as the word, and something unique about each guest as the clue. Then your guests will have to talk and mingle to figure out the answers to each clue!
